Meet Our Team

Moh Dadafarin - Director - Principal Audiologist

Moh is the Principal Audiologist and founder of Ear and Hearing Australia. Moh is a full member of the Audiological Society of Australia, a member of the Australian Audiologists in Private Practice, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. Moh has a wealth of knowledge and extensive experience having worked in different fields in Audiology for over 25 years.

From humble beginnings managing his father’s mosaic factory store at age 13, Moh became excited at the prospect of Audiology as a career after being introduced to the field by a family friend. Moh completed his Bachelor of Audiology in 1985 from the University of Tehran. Being dux of his class it was a natural progression to lecturing and then to commence his own Audiology practice. Those years were tough for Moh, often seeing clients referred up until midnight from the numerous “nocturnal” ENT specialists who worked equally long hours! These early experiences of professional life gave him the discipline and resolve to make a new life for himself in Australia where he originally came to study his MSc at Macquarie University. In 1996 Moh was approached and offered a scholarship to study a PhD at Melbourne’s Bionic Ear Institute. This vital research would build on his Master thesis on combination implant hearing aid treatments for the profoundly deaf. It was during those academic years that Moh sensed a need to establish a comprehensive and personalized Audiology experience for the hearing impaired. In 1998 Ear and Hearing Australia was born and has now grown to comprise ten clinics in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

From the beginning Moh wanted a patient’s experience at Ear and Hearing Australia to be different. He did not want a regimented approach to hearing health care but rather a holistic approach that provided the basis to treat the individual as a whole person rather than just a set of defective ears. This approach is now well accepted and has been the essence in the growth of Ear and Hearing Australia.

Back from the UK, Patrice worked as a district manager at Sydney’s northern beaches where one of her most interesting clients was the first girl to surf in Australia. An offer to good to refuse saw her give up surfing before work every morning to relocate to Melbourne for a year or so… and that was 10 years ago!

Having worked in clinical practice, for a major hearing aid manufacturer and as an undergraduate teacher in audiology, Patrice takes great pride in her trouble shooting skills and ensuring the right hearing aid is matched to each and every ear.
